A Turkey eSIM from SimFuse costs from €0.99 and runs on Türk Telekom, Vodafone, and Turkcell. Install it at home before you fly: Turkey blocks some eSIM sellers, so installing or activating it after you land might not work.

Buy the data for the whole trip before you board. Topping up from inside Turkey depends on reaching the seller's website or app, and that might not load on every Turkish network. The table lists fixed-allowance and unlimited Turkey plans side by side with their price per GB, and each row states its hotspot terms.

Pick the network, data and number of days to see the matching plans and prices. Every row shows its own validity, tethering and allowance terms.
What's included
- A QR code by email, usually within seconds and always within minutes.
- The clock starts when you first connect here, not when you pay. Install at home.
- At the allowance, data stops or continues at a reduced speed, depending on the plan.
- Hotspot permission and caps depend on the plan. With no separate cap, tethering uses the plan's data.
- On plans that allow top-ups, add data without reinstalling. Each top-up has its own validity.
- Data only, unless the plan includes calls or SMS. Internet calling depends on app access and local restrictions.
Not sure how much data?
Yes. The table lists unlimited Turkey plans beside the fixed allowances. Each unlimited row states what unlimited means there, such as a daily full-speed allowance and the speed after it, so read it before you buy. A fixed plan stops at its allowance, and the rows that take a top-up say so.

- Heavy daily use. Unlimited terms differ by plan and length: a daily full-speed allowance, one allowance for the whole plan, a speed cap or no cap at all. Check the terms for the length you pick.
Which networks does a Turkey eSIM use, and where are the gaps?
Your Turkey eSIM connects to Türk Telekom, Vodafone, and Turkcell. Coverage is strong in Istanbul, Antalya, Cappadocia and along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. In the far southeast, around Hakkari and Şırnak, Vodafone and Türk Telekom have significant gaps, and mountain passes can go without signal for long stretches. Expect drops on boat trips off Bodrum. Cappadocia towns such as Göreme have good 4G, but the underground cities have weak or no signal, so download offline maps before you go in.

Using data in Turkey, what to know before you go
Install before you fly, not after you land
On 10 July 2025 Turkey's regulator, BTK, blocked access to the websites and apps of eight foreign eSIM sellers from inside the country, and the count reached 37 by October 2025. eSIM itself still works. Buy and install at home over Wi-Fi: installing or activating an eSIM inside Turkey might not work. No seller's website, ours included, can be promised to load on every Turkish network, so buy enough data for the whole trip.
Staying longer than four months? The IMEI rule
A phone brought from abroad can be used on Turkish networks for 120 days after you enter the country. To keep using it, you register its IMEI and pay a government fee, set each January (54,258 Turkish lira for 2026), or the phone is blocked. Registration needs your original passport and a Turkish tax number, which a tax office issues free. Tourists and family visits under four months are unaffected. Travel eSIM users have not widely reported IMEI blocks, but sources disagree on whether the clock applies to them, so on a longer stay plan to register.
Social media can slow down during unrest
Turkey has restricted social media during political turmoil before. On 19 March 2025, after the Istanbul mayor was detained, NetBlocks measured restricted access to X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Turkey eSIM, frequently asked questions
Does a Turkey eSIM get 5G?
Some do. Each Turkey plan row states the network generation it supports, so check the row if 5G matters to you. Turkcell, Türk Telekom and Vodafone switched on 5G in all 81 provincial centres in April 2026, and have until April 2028 to cover the whole country.
Can I install my Turkey eSIM after I land?
Do not plan on it. Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi before you travel, then switch your mobile data to it when you land. Installing or activating it inside Turkey might not work, because Turkey blocks access to many foreign eSIM sellers' websites and apps from Turkish networks and publishes no list. Unless a plan says otherwise, validity starts when the eSIM first connects in Turkey, not when you pay, so installing a week early costs you nothing.
Turkish SIM card or eSIM: which is better for tourists?
A Turkish tourist SIM is registered to your passport. Turkcell accepts only a valid passport, not a national ID card. The bigger catch is the phone. A phone brought from abroad can be used on Turkish networks for 120 days from your entry date. After that, its IMEI must be registered for a government fee, or the phone is blocked. On a two-week holiday the clock never runs out. On a stay of four months or more, it decides the question.
Will you pay roaming charges in Turkey?
Not on the SimFuse plan. You pay once, upfront, and nothing arrives afterwards. Your home SIM bills by its own tariff: if that tariff includes Turkey, as Roam Like at Home does for EU and EEA home SIMs inside the EU and EEA (within fair use), it costs what it does at home. If not, it bills at your carrier's roaming rate, so turn off data roaming and automatic data switching before you land.
Can I make calls and send texts?
No. The plans listed here are data only, with no call or SMS allowance. You can use calling and messaging apps over data.
Does eSIM work in Turkey?
Yes. Your phone connects to Türk Telekom, Vodafone, and Turkcell like any visiting phone. Install the eSIM before you arrive: Turkey blocks some foreign eSIM sellers' websites and apps, so installing or activating it after you land might not work.
Which eSIMs are banned in Turkey?
None, as a technology. Since July 2025 Turkey's regulator, BTK, has blocked the websites and apps of foreign eSIM sellers from inside the country, 37 of them by October 2025, and has not published the list. Buying from a blocked seller or checking your data on its site does not work in Turkey, so buy and install before you arrive.
Will my phone be blocked after 120 days in Turkey?
Only if you stay longer than 120 days without registering it. The limit counts from your entry date and applies to phones brought from abroad. Under four months, you do nothing. Travel eSIM users have not widely reported IMEI blocks, but on a longer stay plan to register the phone's IMEI.
Does the eSIM work in Cappadocia?
Yes. Towns such as Göreme have good 4G. Inside the underground cities the signal is weak or gone, so download maps before you go in.
Can I share my Turkey eSIM data with another device?
Yes. Each plan row states its hotspot terms, and every Turkey plan listed in November 2026 allows hotspot use, so a laptop or a travel partner's phone can share your data.
Will I keep my number and WhatsApp in Turkey?
Yes. SimFuse's Turkey plans are data only, so your home SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and WhatsApp keeps your number. Keep that line switched on: a data-only plan cannot call 112, Turkey's number for ambulance, fire and police.
What is the best eSIM for Turkey?
Turkey eSIM plans from SimFuse start at EUR 0.99. Pick on three things: the data you use in a day, how long you stay, and whether you need to tether. Compare validity and allowance terms below. Use Advanced filters to check the available networks.
Which networks does the Turkey eSIM use?
Turkey plans run on Türk Telekom, Vodafone, and Turkcell. Carriers differ between plans. Use Advanced filters to check available networks. Your phone shows the local carrier's name in its status bar. An unstated generation is not a promise of 4G or 5G.
How much does a Turkey eSIM cost?
Turkey eSIM plans start at EUR 0.99, paid once and upfront, with no bill when you get home. Compare the total price and price per GB for the data and validity you need. Calls, texts and roaming on your home SIM stay on your home carrier's tariff.
Can I tether or hotspot in Turkey?
Each Turkey plan row says whether it allows tethering. If the row shows no separate tethering cap, a hotspot spends the plan's own data. If it shows one, tethering is limited to that amount. Check it before you plan to work off a laptop.
Do I need to keep my home SIM while in Turkey?
Keep it if you want your existing number reachable for calls and texts. On a dual-SIM phone, your home SIM and travel eSIM sit side by side. Calls and SMS included with your travel plan use its own line. Turn off data roaming and automatic data switching on your home line to control its roaming use.
Is my phone compatible with an eSIM?
Check your exact model and regional version in the compatibility guide, then look for 'Add eSIM' in your phone's settings. The phone also has to be carrier-unlocked. Brand and release year are not enough on their own, because some regional versions of an eSIM-capable model ship without it. Check your exact phone model →
What happens when my data runs out?
Some plans stop until you top up, others continue at a reduced speed, and each plan row says which. A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already have. Each top-up option states its own validity and says if it replaces your current plan.
Can I get a refund if it does not work?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase, while the eSIM is unused. One that has never connected and has used no data is refunded in full, including when your phone turns out not to support eSIM or you could not get a connection at all. Once it has connected and carried data, contact support and we will look at it.
