Winter sun: what a week of mobile data costs per day in the Canaries, Morocco, Egypt and Turkey

For a 7-day winter-sun trip, the table below prices a week of data in the Canary Islands, Morocco, Egypt and Turkey per day, live from the SimFuse catalog. Only the Canaries are inside EU roaming.

The EU's Roam Like at Home area is the 27 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Ukraine and Moldova, according to the European Commission. The Canary Islands are part of Spain, so a plan from one of those countries normally roams there at home prices, within its fair-use terms. Morocco, Egypt and Turkey are outside the area, so what roaming costs there is your own carrier's decision, plan by plan. The UK is not one of the 32 either, so on a UK plan all four destinations are priced by the carrier. Look each one up by name on your carrier's roaming page.

Each row in the table is the cheapest data-only plan that lasts at least 7 days and carries at least 3 GB, read from the catalog when the page loads and shown in your currency. The per-day figure is that price divided by the 7 days of the trip, not by the plan's own validity, so a 30-day plan bought for one week counts in full. The date under the heading says when the prices were checked, and the hotspot column shows each plan's own tethering terms as the catalog states them.

Does a Spain plan cover the islands? On SimFuse, yes. The Canary Islands, Tenerife and Gran Canaria included, are sold as part of Spain, so the Spain plans are the Canaries plans and there is no separate island plan to buy. If your home plan already roams in Spain at home prices, you may not need an eSIM there at all; one makes sense when your fair-use allowance is small or your plan comes from outside the EU roaming area.

Turkey and Egypt each have one thing to know before you land. Turkey's telecoms regulator, BTK, has blocked the websites of dozens of foreign eSIM sellers from inside the country, 37 by October 2025 according to Diken, so buy and install your plan at home rather than at the airport. Egypt ended its customs exemption for phones brought from abroad at noon on 21 January 2026, but tourists keep a 90-day exemption, according to the regulator NTRA, so a phone on a holiday shorter than that is not affected.

Install the eSIM at home, over Wi-Fi, any day before you fly.
