Set it up on Wi-Fi at home. It activates on first connection in Turkey, not at purchase, so buying a week early costs you nothing.
The trip you take every year, not once
This route runs on family time: weeks rather than days, the same months each year, and a phone that has to work away from the big cities.
The profile stays on your phone all year. Next summer, top up and go. No new QR code and no reinstall.
Order a plan and send the QR code on WhatsApp. Installing takes about two minutes at their end.
30-day plans up to 50 GB cover a whole summer, instead of a short tourist bundle you finish in the first week.
Pay the way you pay at home
Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. Prices in euros, with a VAT receipt in your inbox.
Carrier coverage, the full plan ladder and the 120-day IMEI rule for long stays sit on the Turkey eSIM page.

Does my German number stay active on WhatsApp?
Yes. Your German SIM stays in the phone and the eSIM carries data only, so WhatsApp keeps working on the number your family already has.
Do I still need a physical SIM card, or is the eSIM enough?
The eSIM is enough for data in Turkey. Keep your German SIM card in the phone for your home number and calls; the eSIM handles the internet on Turkcell or Vodafone.
Does it work in the village, not just Istanbul?
Turkcell and Vodafone cover nearly all inhabited areas including small towns on 4G/LTE. In remote eastern provinces the connection can fall back to 3G.
What would roaming on my German contract cost?
Turkey is outside the EU roaming rules, so the EU allowance in your German plan does not apply and data is billed out of bundle. A prepaid 10 GB eSIM is €10.99, paid upfront.
Can I share the connection with my family's phones?
Yes. Tethering works, so one plan can cover a hire car or a family in the same house.
Can I buy several at once?
Yes, several eSIMs in one order. Each QR code arrives separately by email and can be forwarded on WhatsApp.
