North America eSIM
Road-trip the US, Canada and Mexico on a single North America eSIM - cross the border without losing signal or buying again.
The largest North America plan covers the 7 countries listed below, and smaller plans cover fewer. Every plan carries its own list, so read the one you pick against your route. Install over Wi-Fi before you fly; the clock starts when you first connect.
Plans start from โฌ2.09, paid once. One regional plan usually beats three or four country plans, and loses to two when you spend most of the trip in one place. Your home SIM's calls, texts and roaming stay on its own tariff.

What's included
- A QR code by email, usually within seconds and always within minutes.
- The clock starts when you first connect here, not when you pay. Install at home.
- What happens at your allowance is on each row: some plans pause, some slow down.
- Tethering spends the plan's own data. Each row says whether it allows it.
- A top-up adds data with nothing to reinstall. Each row says which plans take one, and each top-up states its own validity.
- Data only, unless a row states a call or SMS allowance. Calling apps work either way.
Not sure how much data?
Start with your recent daily data use, then account for the days away, video calls and any devices you will connect.
- 3 GB
- Maps, messages, light browsing
- 10 GB
- Plus social media and photo uploads
- 20 GB
- Plus streaming and video calls
- Unlimited
- Heavy daily use. The row states the full-speed allowance and the speed after it.

Example country coverage for North America
These 7 countries belong to the largest listed plan, shown as an example. Other plans can differ. Each row links to country plans and their starting prices. Check your chosen regional plan's own country list before buying.
For these stops, compare country plans or another regional plan that explicitly includes them.
These are starting prices for country plans. Compare the total for your actual route using the same data needs and travel dates. A North America plan is an option when its country list includes every stop; separate plans can cost less.
Country plan or North America plan?
How many countries does your trip touch?
The simplest way to stay online across North America
One plan across every country on its list, with nothing to reinstall at a border. Count transit stops and day trips, not just the places you sleep.
An upfront price for your selected plan. Your home SIM's calls, texts and roaming remain subject to its own tariff.
Install over Wi-Fi before you fly. The clock starts when you first connect on arrival, not when you pay, so buying early costs you nothing.
Running low mid-route? A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already have, with nothing to reinstall and no new QR code. Each top-up option states its own validity.
Why choose a SimFuse eSIM for North America?
The largest North America plan covers 7 countries, listed below, and smaller plans cover fewer. One plan runs across every country on its own list, with nothing to reinstall at a border. Compare it against separate country plans and against your home carrier's roaming rate for the same days.
Travelling beyond North America? Global plans cover a wider itinerary. Each one lists the countries it includes, so check it for the stops outside {name}. See the Global eSIM โ
Where does the North America eSIM work?
In every country on the plan's own list, on local networks. The 7 destinations shown here are the largest plan's coverage, and smaller plans cover fewer, so the list on the plan you pick is the one that counts.
How much data do I need?
Take the daily average your phone already reports and multiply it by the whole trip, not one leg. Multi-country routes run higher, because you check maps and transport in every new city. Tethering spends the same allowance. If you fall short, a top-up adds data to the same eSIM on the plans that take one.
Do I set up before travel or on arrival?
Before you travel. Install it at home over Wi-Fi, because the validity clock does not start until the eSIM first connects to a network inside the plan's coverage. Paying and installing start nothing. Buy as far ahead as you like, as long as you first connect within a year.
Will I pay roaming charges?
Not on the North America plan. You pay once, upfront, and crossing a border changes nothing about the price. Your home SIM is the one to watch: its calls, texts and data still bill at your carrier's roaming rate, so turn off data roaming and automatic data switching.
Connected in three steps
From checkout to coverage in under a minute. No store visit, no paperwork, no swapping tiny plastic cards.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries are not included in the North America eSIM?
Every North America plan carries its own country list, and the list above is the coverage of the largest one we sell. Smaller plans cover fewer countries, so open the plan you are considering and read its list against your route. The regional name is not the coverage.
What happens when I cross a border?
Nothing, when the next country is on your plan's list: the eSIM connects to a local network there and keeps running on the same allowance. Crossing a border does not refill the data or extend the validity. If the next country is not on the list, buy a plan that covers it first.
Is one North America eSIM cheaper than buying each country separately?
Compare both against your actual itinerary. A regional plan usually wins when it covers every stop and the alternative is three or four country plans. For two countries with a long stay in one, separate plans often cost less. More borders do not guarantee a saving.
Can I top up without buying a new eSIM?
Yes, on the plans that offer top-ups, and each plan row says which do. A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already have, with nothing to reinstall and no new QR code. Whether it moves your expiry date depends on the plan's network, so each top-up option states its own validity and says if it replaces your current plan.
How many countries does the North America eSIM cover?
The largest North America plan we sell covers 7 countries, listed above. Other North America plans cover fewer. Each one shows its own list, so open the plan you are considering and check it against every stop on your route rather than going by the regional name.
Do I need a separate eSIM for each country in North America?
No, when one regional plan lists every country on your route. It stays connected as you cross borders, with nothing to reinstall and no profiles to swap. For a stop the plan does not list, add a country plan for that leg. Your home SIM's own charges stay separate.
Where does the North America eSIM work?
In every country on the plan's own list, on local networks. The 7 destinations shown here are the largest plan's coverage, and smaller plans cover fewer, so the list on the plan you pick is the one that counts.

What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM profile you install from a QR code, with no plastic card to insert. Buy a plan, install it over Wi-Fi before you fly, and it connects when you land. Your home SIM stays in the phone, so your own number keeps working. How eSIMs work, in full โ
How does a travel eSIM work?
A travel eSIM is a digital SIM you install on a compatible, unlocked phone. It connects to the networks covered by your chosen plan. Plans provide data; some also include calls and SMS. Check the planโs allowances and activation instructions before you buy. How eSIMs work, in full โ
Is my phone compatible with an eSIM?
Check your exact model and regional version in the compatibility guide, then look for 'Add eSIM' in your phone's settings. The phone also has to be carrier-unlocked. Brand and release year are not enough on their own, because some regional versions of an eSIM-capable model ship without it. Check your exact phone model โ
When does my data plan start - at purchase or on arrival?
On arrival. The clock starts when the eSIM first connects to a network inside the plan's coverage, not when you pay and not when you install, which is what makes installing at home over Wi-Fi safe. Buy ahead if you like, and connect for the first time within a year of purchase.
Can I keep my regular phone number?
Yes. Keep your home SIM installed alongside the travel eSIM. Your existing number stays with your home SIM, and WhatsApp keeps the number you registered. Some travel plans include a separate phone number. Your home carrierโs calls, texts and roaming remain separate.
Can I make calls and send texts?
Call and SMS allowances depend on your chosen plan. Check its details before you buy. Calling and messaging apps can use the planโs data.
Can I use my eSIM as a hotspot?
Tethering draws on the plan's own allowance, so a hotspot spends the same data your phone does. Each plan row says whether it allows tethering, and the few plans that cap it separately or forbid it say so there. On an unlimited plan, hotspot data counts towards the same daily allowance.
eSIM vs physical SIM - which is better for travel?
An eSIM installs from a QR code in about two minutes, with no shop to find and no card to swap, and you can buy and install it before you fly. A physical SIM still makes sense on an unlocked phone that has a SIM slot and no eSIM support. Both need an unlocked phone.
What happens when my data runs out?
Some plans stop until you top up, others continue at a reduced speed, and each plan row says which. A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already have. What it does to your expiry date depends on the plan's network, so each top-up option states its own validity and says if it replaces your current plan.
Can I use one eSIM in multiple countries?
Yes, when the plan lists every country you will visit. Every plan shows its own country list, so read it against overnight stays, transit stops and day trips. A regional name is not a country list: two plans sold for the same region can cover a different set of countries.
Is an eSIM secure?
An eSIM cannot be pulled out of a stolen phone the way a plastic card can, and a data-only plan carries no calls or texts to intercept. Keep your QR code private, because the first person to scan it gets the plan. If you lose the phone, contact us and your home carrier.
How do I install an eSIM on iPhone?
Open Settings โ Cellular or Mobile Data โ Add eSIM, then scan the QR code from your confirmation email while on Wi-Fi. It takes about two minutes. Install before you fly: the clock starts when you first connect at your destination, not when you install. Step-by-step install guide โ
How do I install an eSIM on Android?
Open your phone's network settings and look for Add eSIM or Download a SIM, then scan the QR code from your confirmation email while on Wi-Fi. Menu names differ by manufacturer. Install before you fly: the clock starts when you first connect at your destination, not when you install. Step-by-step install guide โ
Can I get a refund if it does not work?
Yes, while the eSIM is unused. One that has never connected and has used no data is refunded in full, including when your phone turns out not to support eSIM or you could not get a connection at all. Once it has connected and carried data, contact support and we will look at it.
