**Updated 2026-11-05:** The headline figures and the top of the table now read the live catalog. Mauritania's entry price fell from €34.29 to €9.79 after publication, so the Africa plan comparison below is dated to 2 November.

The headline figures in this post are live: they come from the catalog and update every few minutes (last update 8 November 2026, 17:31 UTC). Passages that name a date describe that day. [See the live Roaming Cost Index](https://simfuse.app/data/roaming-cost-index/)

The median entry price for a travel eSIM in SimFuse's Roaming Cost Index is €3.99 today, across 207 countries. The range runs from €0.89 in Ukraine to €47.79 in Namibia, a gap of about 54 times.

The index ranks every country SimFuse sells by its cheapest purchasable data plan, in euros, from live catalog prices. It ranks entry price, not price per GB, so a country can top the table on a one-day plan. For this write-up we read the index's CSV and the live catalog on 2 November 2026. Rows move by cents between refreshes, and we saw two rows differ by ten cents between two reads of the catalog, so every figure tied to a date below is that day's.

Region is the biggest driver. On 2 November, using the catalog's own region labels, Europe had the lowest median entry price at EUR 1.09, then Asia at EUR 2.09, the Middle East at EUR 2.69 and South America at EUR 4.09. North America was at EUR 5.29, the Caribbean at EUR 5.34 and Africa at EUR 5.39. Oceania was dearest at EUR 9.29, about 8.5 times Europe. The catalog files Türkiye, Russia and Ukraine under Europe, so they sit in that first number.

Neighbours differ more than you would expect. On 2 November Thailand started at EUR 1.29 and Japan at EUR 3.19. Egypt started at EUR 1.49 and Morocco at EUR 3.39. Türkiye was in the cheapest tier at EUR 0.99, alongside Poland, Romania and Finland. The index does not say why one country costs more than the next, so use it to set expectations, then read the plan itself.

The top of the table is a moving target. On 10 October our own check had Cuba as the dearest country at €40.29, and on 2 November Mauritania stood second at €34.29. Right now the five dearest are Namibia (€47.79), Cuba (€28.09), Zimbabwe (€20.09), Nauru (€18.29) and Angola (€16.19).

Entry price is not like for like, and that is the limit of this index. On 2 November Ukraine's cheapest plan was 500 MB for one day, and Namibia's cheapest was a one-day unlimited plan, with its 1 GB, 7-day plan costing more than that. A regional plan can undercut a dear country, but only if it covers it. On 2 November, check-coverage confirmed that an Africa plan with 1 GB for 7 days worked in Mauritania, at about half Mauritania's entry price that day, and that it did not work in Namibia. On 2 November SimFuse's Africa region listed Namibia as a member, yet none of the 24 Africa plans covered it that day. Read the country list on the plan.

The index has no carrier prices, so it cannot tell you what your own roaming costs. Look up your carrier's tariff for the country, then compare. Most SimFuse plans are data only, and your home SIM stays in the phone, so your number and WhatsApp stay the same. The validity clock starts when you first connect abroad, not when you buy.

8.5x

Europe's median entry price was EUR 1.09 and Oceania's EUR 9.29, about 8.5 times higher (SimFuse Roaming Cost Index, 2 November 2026).
