# Compare eSIM plans

We buy data from several supplier networks and show you the cheapest plan for where you are going. The table below reads the SimFuse catalog rather than a hand-kept list. An eSIM that was never activated is refundable in full within 30 days of purchase, so comparing costs you nothing.

## One price check, several networks

Instead of opening five tabs, see the cheapest plan we can source for your destination across all the supplier networks we buy from.

## Refundable for 30 days

Compare, buy, and change your mind. An unactivated eSIM is refundable in full within 30 days of purchase, so there is no risk in picking early.

## Catalog prices, not a screenshot

Every price in the table comes from the SimFuse catalog, the same source checkout charges from, and is shown in your selected currency.

## How we compare eSIM plans

For every destination we compare the data plans across the supplier networks we buy from and list the cheapest starting price, with the network it runs on and its speed tier. Open a destination to compare every plan by data, validity and price per GB, because a cheap plan that runs out on day three is not the cheapest plan.

## eSIM comparison questions

What is an eSIM?+

An eSIM is a digital SIM profile you install from a QR code, with no plastic card to insert. Buy a plan, install it over Wi-Fi before you fly, and it connects when you land. Your home SIM stays in the phone, so your own number keeps working. [How eSIMs work, in full →](https://simfuse.app/guides/what-is-an-esim/)

How does a travel eSIM work?+

A travel eSIM is a digital SIM you install on a compatible, unlocked phone. It connects to the networks covered by your chosen plan. Plans provide data; some also include calls and SMS. Check the plan’s allowances and activation instructions before you buy. [How eSIMs work, in full →](https://simfuse.app/guides/what-is-an-esim/)

Is my phone compatible with an eSIM?+

Check your exact model and regional version in the compatibility guide, then look for 'Add eSIM' in your phone's settings. The phone also has to be carrier-unlocked. Brand and release year are not enough on their own, because some regional versions of an eSIM-capable model ship without it. [Check your exact phone model →](https://simfuse.app/guides/esim-compatible-phones/)

When does my data plan start - at purchase or on arrival?+

On arrival. The clock starts when the eSIM first connects to a network inside the plan's coverage, not when you pay and not when you install, which is what makes installing at home over Wi-Fi safe. Buy ahead if you like, and connect for the first time within 12 months of purchase.

Can I keep my regular phone number?+

Yes. Keep your home SIM installed alongside the travel eSIM. Your existing number stays with your home SIM, and WhatsApp keeps the number you registered. Plans with calls or texts add minutes and SMS, not a phone number. Your home carrier’s calls, texts and roaming remain separate.

Can I make calls and send texts?+

Choose a plan with included call minutes or SMS to use those services through your phone’s normal calling and messaging apps. Data-only plans support internet calling and messaging apps. Check the allowances on your selected plan. Charges on your home line stay separate.

How much data do I need for my trip?+

Start with your phone's recent daily use, which it reports in its own cellular settings, and multiply by the days away. Add room for video calls, uploads and any laptop you tether. On an unlimited plan, the row states what unlimited means there, such as a daily full-speed allowance or a speed cap.

Can I use my eSIM as a hotspot?+

Yes, on plans that allow it, and each plan row says which do. If the row shows no separate tethering cap, a hotspot spends the plan's own data. If it shows one, tethering is limited to that amount or speed.

Will I pay roaming charges?+

No. You pay one upfront price and nothing else, with no bill waiting when you get home. Your home SIM is separate: its calls, texts and roaming stay on your carrier's tariff. Turn off data roaming and automatic data switching on that line if you do not intend to use it.

eSIM vs physical SIM - which is better for travel?+

An eSIM installs from a QR code in about 2 minutes, with no shop to find and no card to swap, and you can buy and install it before you fly. A physical SIM still makes sense on an unlocked phone that has a SIM slot and no eSIM support. Both need an unlocked phone.

What happens when my data runs out?+

Some plans stop until you top up, others continue at a reduced speed, and each plan row says which. A top-up adds data to the eSIM you already have. Each top-up option states its own validity and says if it replaces your current plan.

Can I use one eSIM in multiple countries?+

Yes, when the plan lists every country you will visit. Every plan shows its own country list, so read it against overnight stays, transit stops and day trips. A regional name is not a country list: two plans sold for the same region can cover a different set of countries.

Is an eSIM secure?+

An eSIM cannot be pulled out of a stolen phone the way a plastic card can, and a data-only plan carries no calls or texts to intercept. Keep your QR code private, because the first person to scan it gets the plan. If you lose the phone, contact us and your home carrier.

How do I install an eSIM on iPhone?+

Open Settings → Cellular or Mobile Data → Add eSIM, then scan the QR code from your confirmation email while on Wi-Fi. It takes about 2 minutes. Install before you fly: the clock starts when you first connect at your destination, not when you install. [Step-by-step install guide →](https://simfuse.app/guides/how-to-install-esim/)

How do I install an eSIM on Android?+

Open your phone's network settings and look for Add eSIM or Download a SIM, then scan the QR code from your confirmation email while on Wi-Fi. Menu names differ by manufacturer. Install before you fly: the clock starts when you first connect at your destination, not when you install. [Step-by-step install guide →](https://simfuse.app/guides/how-to-install-esim/)

Can I get a refund if it does not work?+

Yes, within 30 days of purchase, while the eSIM is unused. One that has never connected and has used no data is refunded in full, including when your phone turns out not to support eSIM or you could not get a connection at all. Once it has connected and carried data, contact support and we will look at it.

How can I get an eSIM?+

Search your destination on simfuse.app or in the SimFuse app, pick a plan and pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto. You do not need an account. The eSIM arrives by email within seconds as a QR code, or installs with one tap in the app. Install it on Wi-Fi before you fly: the plan only starts when it first connects at your destination.
